Welcome to Bread of Devon formerly Devonshire Pantry which was one of Cardiff’s original sandwich bars, proudly serving the community since 1997.

For 28 years, we’ve been passionate about great food, friendly service, and staying true to our roots.

Devonshire Pantry was run by husband-and-wife team, Ian and Jayne Milford. Ian, originally from Devon, brought with him a love of hearty, quality ingredients, while Jayne, born and raised in South Wales, adds a warm local touch to everything we do. Together, they created a place that’s become a staple for locals and visitors alike – whether you're grabbing a sandwich on your lunch break or you need us to cater for something larger. We will oblige.

As one of the first sandwich bars to open in Cardiff, Devonshire Pantry has grown alongside the city, building a reputation for simple, delicious food made with care and consistency. Our loyal customers, some of whom have been with us since day one, know that when they step into the Pantry, they’ll be greeted with a smile and served something satisfying.

Due to a change in Ian’s circumstances we are now rebranding and will be known as Bread of Devon, which will be run by Jayne and the original sandwich crew, so nothing will change apart from the name.
